Bob's Watches publishes these as completed purchases with the amounts paid, updated hourly; this snapshot is from Oct. 1, 2026, 4:26 PM PT. Condition and box and papers are not stated. Bob's Submariner 114060 page listed pre-owned examples at $12,495 and $12,995 on October 2, 20266.
A dealer's offer is lower than its asking price because the dealer carries the inspection, servicing, holding time and the risk of the sale. Bob's Watches says its initial estimate assumes excellent, ready-to-sell condition, and that after inspection it deducts only the cost of needed work at its wholesale rates5.
On the published numbers, one Submariner 114060 was bought for $9,000 while Bob's listed others at $12,495 and $12,99556. They are different watches in possibly different condition, so this is not a markup on one watch, but it shows the size of the gap a private sale can capture.
Selling yourself on eBay keeps more of a $10,000 sale than consignment by our arithmetic, but you do the work and wait for a buyer; eBay routes eligible watches through its Authenticity Guarantee at no cost to you14.
